Farmers provide from-the-field reports

Wheat conditions vary greatly across the country. In the areas that finally received some precipitation, the crop is healthy. For those whose fields are still bone-dry, crop potential looks bleak, according to reports on’s Virtual Wheat Tour.

A Lawrence County, Ark., farmer says the little bit of wheat that is planted in his area looks OK but needs moisture.

A late-winter rain in McLennan County, Texas, was the shot-in-the-arm the crop needed to emerge.
