Marketplace Need for Cowboy College:

Cowboy College is an educational program designed specifi cally for feedlot cattle crews – processing teams, cowboy doctors and others involved in the day-to-day care and welfare of the animals. Dan Thomson, DVM, PhD, Kansas State University

Dr. Thomson is recognized internationally as a leader in animal welfare, beef cattle production and cattle health management. Thomson is a former chair of the U.N.’s animal welfare committee, and currently serves as Global Co-leader for McDonald’s Beef Health and Welfare Committee. He is the director of the Beef Cattle Institute at Kansas State, and the Jones professor of epidemiology and production medicine.

 

Tom Nuffsinger

Tom Noffsinger, DVM

Dr. Noffsinger, Benkelman, NE, is a consulting feedlot veterinarian best known for his passion and enthusiasm for working with feedlots and ranches on low-stress cattle handling. His philosophy and production practices benefi t both the cattle and the cowboys.
