CLINTON…IN ITS MESSAGE TO AGDAY, THE EPA SAYS ULTIMATELY THESE MAPS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT'S PROPOSED WATER RULE. THEY WERE CREATED FOLLOWING A 2001 SUPREME COURT CASE IN ORDER TO IDENTIFY WHICH WATERS MIGHT BE IMPACTED BY A CLEAN WATER ACT RULING. EPA SAYS THE MAPS SHOW WATER FEATURES BUT NOT JURISDICTIONAL WATERS. IT SAYS TO ENFORCE THE NEW CLEAN WATER PROPOSAL NEW MAPS WOULD HAVE TO BE CREATED FROM GROUND SURVEYS.
