Recognized for its successful investments in the growth of its plants, HP Hood stood out from the competition with its unique four-point strategy.
HP Hood, one of the largest branded dairy operations in the United States, today announced that it has been named as Processor of the Year by Dairy Foods magazine.
Recognized for its successful investments in the growth of its plants, HP Hood stood out from the competition with its unique four-point strategy of manufacturing branded, private label, licensed and co-packed dairy foods and beverages. Dairy Foods presented the award to HP Hood at the International Dairy Foods Association Dairy Forum on Jan. 27, 2014, at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, Calif.
"Dairy Foods selected HP Hood as the 2013 Processor of the Year for many reasons," said Jim Carper, editor-in-chief of Dairy Foods magazine. "Since buying Hood in the 1990s, John Kaneb and his management team have taken the company from a regional business to one stretching from coast to coast."
HP Hood received the Processor of the Year Award for a number of innovative and successful achievements at its four plants. It has been instrumental in developing and expanding the categories of flavored coffee creamers and dairy-based dips like BAILEYS® Coffee Creamers and Heluva Good!®.
HP Hood has invested heavily in new equipment and technologies, helping to create new and more efficient processes. The company made strides in 2013 to work towards achieving zero-waste-to-landfill as well as pursuing other sustainability projects. In addition, the company is engaged with the industry— company executives are active participants in trade associations that share technical knowledge and promote the dairy industry.
"With our national and international reach, in-house research and development team, and state-of-the-art processing and packaging capabilities, we are able to successfully deliver solutions to our customers," said Jim Walsh, executive vice president of sales at HP Hood. "It is because of those reasons and more that we are so proud to be named Processor of the Year by such a widely respected publication in the dairy industry."
HP Hood is one of the most experienced aseptic, low-acid beverage and ESL processors in the United States. With aseptic and ESL production lines strategically located in Oneida, N.Y.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Winchester, Va. and Sacramento, Calif., HP Hood has national and international reach for aseptic beverages and ESL packaging.
