One pass postemergence weed control is still possible, says Jeff Springsteen, corn herbicide product manager, Bayer CropScience. Two modes of action combine to make Capreno a new one pass candidate for the 2011 season. A combination of HPPD and ALS-inhibitor (Group 27 and Group 2) chemistries, Bayer’s new product is labeled to control more than 65 grass and broadleaf weeds. Capreno was launched in select states in 2010 and seeing a national launch in 2011.

Springsteen says growers will also find utility in Laudis, Bayer’s HPPD inhibitor (Group 27) that is labeled to be tankmixed with fungicide for V5 application.
