The online auction of a custom-made Case IH skid steer called Red Power will result in a $77,000 gift to FFA programs.

Evolution Ag placed the winning bid during the Purple Wave-administered auction, which ran from Aug. 28 to Sept. 30. The Ohio-based company is a parent of JR Equipment, Hill Implement Co. and Agri-Trac.

"We congratulate Evolution Ag on its winning bid," says Kyle Russell, senior director of marketing at Case IH. "Case IH has a long history of support for FFA and youth programs, and we are proud to contribute to a program that has done so much to help students Be Ready for future careers in agriculture."

Eighty-nine percent of sale proceeds will benefit the National FFA Foundation, while 10 percent will help the Ohio FFA Foundation and 1 percent will help the Buckeye Valley FFA.

Case IH displayed Red Power earlier this year at the 2012 Farm Progress Show in Boone, IA. The model SV250 skid steer features:

  • 82 gross engine horsepower
  • a 2,500-pound rated operating capacity (ROC)
  • dual chrome exhaust stacks
  • custom eight-spoke-pattern wheels
  • tinted cab windows
  • a custom red leather seat
  • special LED lighting

Case Construction helped develop the skid steer.
