Event will take place Feb. 13 at farm show in Tulare, Calif.
California’s three major dairy cooperatives are sponsoring a seminar to educate dairy producers about the possibility of adopting a federal milk marketing order in the Golden State.
The federal order meeting will take place Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 9:30 a.m. at World Ag Expo in Tulare, Calif. The event will be held in the VIP Tent on Expo Lane between S and T Streets at the International Agri-Center, site of World Ag Expo.
Tom Wegner of Land O’Lakes, Eric Erba of California Dairies, and Elvin Hollon of Dairy Farmers of America will make up the discussion panel. Pete Garbani of Land O’Lakes will moderate the discussion.
The meeting is open to the public. Dairy producers are encouraged to attend to learn more about federal milk marketing orders, which are marketing structures that regulate handlers. Producers request and maintain them, but FMMOs are paid for by handlers. California has had its own state pricing structure since the 1930s.
World Ag Expo is the world's largest annual agricultural exposition. This year’s show will be held Feb. 12-14. More than 1,400 exhibitors display the latest in farm equipment, communications and technology on 2.5 million square feet of exhibit space. Free seminars focus on a variety of topics important to dairy producers, farmers, ranchers and agribusiness professionals.

- Tuesday, Feb. 12 and Wednesday, Feb. 13 - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Thursday, Feb. 14 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
