Feed Price Outlook for 2013 Tied to Growing Conditions

Feed prices for livestock in 2013 will depend heavily on growing conditions and resulting corn yields, Pro Farmer editor Chip Flory says.

Another national average yield of 130 bushels or less would result in similar feed prices to those found last year, he says. That means corn would probably top out at between $8.25/bu. and $8.50/bu.

But 150 bu./acre or more with average growing conditions could push feed prices down. Watch the following video to hear Flory’s analysis of possible feed-price outcomes:
