Indemnities under the federal crop insurance program have hit $10.547 billion for 2011 crops, according to Risk Management Agency (RMA) data, closing in on what some expect to be an eventual $11 billion mark for indemnities.
No single commodity has registered a major jump but as the following data shows, but advances for corn totaled around $17 million for the most recent week.

The level of net insured acres continues to climb for 2012 crops, with RMA data indicating 83.917 million acres for the week ended April 9. For 2011, a net 265.248 million acres were insured.
