To tackle all types of farm chores, John Deere expands its utility tractor lineup and round baler offering.

The 6 Series tractor family has 12 new models in the 105 to 170 engine horsepower range and includes features for both livestock producers and row-crop farmers. Expanding on its 6R Series tractors for the row-crop market, the company introduces two midhorsepower models: 6140R and 6150R, offering 140 and 150 engine horsepower, respectively. These models, which replace the 7030 Premium models, include a larger ComfortView cab for increased comfort and visi-bility, GreenStar 3 CommandCenter display and precision ag technology options found on John Deere’s larger R Series tractors.

The 6M Series has six models in the 105 to 170 engine horsepower range. Replacing the standard 6030 and 7030 series, these tractors can be equipped with expanded transmission options and increased hydraulic and hitch capacity. The four 6D models range from 105 to 140 engine horsepower, feature a new righthand console and can be loader-ready from the factory.

5E Tractor

The John Deere 5E tractor lineup now includes the 5045E, 5055E, 5065E, 5075E, 5083E, 5093E and 5101E tractors, with the last three digits of the model number representing 56 n FARMJOURNAL n NOVEMBER 2012the engine horsepower. The four new models range from 45 to 75 engine  horsepower. New options include a cab on the 5055E, 5065E and 5075E models; an open operator station for the 5083E, 5093E and 5101E models; and the 12F/12R PowrReverser transmission for the 55- to 101-hp models. Designed for rural property owners, livestock producers and commercial customers, the four-cylinder 5E models are compatible with John Deere H Series and 553 loaders. The new H Series loaders have a return-to-position/electronic self-leveling option. Both features are integrated with the tractor CommandCenter and the joystick for control.

9 Series Baler

More options for balers. John Deere introduces 12 new models in its line of 9 Series round balers. All models feature a larger driveshaft, are equipped with Diamond Chain and have enhancements for easier maintenance and increased durability. The premium models have larger cams and  pickup bearings. Silage special balers are added to the Class III and Class IV lineup, giving  customers options for larger silage bale sizes, specifically 5'×6' bales. The 459 and 559 balers feature adjustable tongues, extended lube drivelines and larger tire options. The new premium balers also have stronger chains, larger shafts and bearings and more robust pickup. The ISOBUS system enables an industry exclusive Tractor Baler Automation feature.
