Krause Gladiator Precision Tillage System
The Gladiator Precision Tillage System from Krause Corporation is built with ST-Pro row units. The Gladiator series is available in 12-row and 16-row configurations. The frames have the capacity to carry a 1,000-gal. liquid tank and tow an anhydrous tank for fertilizer options. The ST-Pro row units are designed for high-residue situations and provide a uniform residue-free strip with consistent tillage depth control. The Drop Zone nutrient placement system allows farmers to set their fertilizer placement independent of the tillage depth. The patented chain reel technology on the Strik’r soil conditioner breaks clods without plugging while finishing a uniform berm. Changing from field operation to transport is quick and easy, and the flip-and-fold toolbar provides a balanced, safe transport. ST-Pro row units are available with spring reset for rocky conditions. List price range: $61,000 to $85,000. Contact: Krause Corporation, P.O. Box 2707, Hutchinson, KS 67504-2707; (800) 957-2873

Blu-jet BT Conquest Tillage Tool
The heavy-duty Blu-Jet BT Conquest is built for tough residue situations. Individual Super 1200 Coulters are spaced on 15" centers and mount individually to a frame section. The coulters feature 1,200 lb. of spring pressure, 20" fluted blades and low/no-maintenance grease points. Blu-Jet modified EdgeBent Shanks with MaxPacs and chisel points are set on 15" spacing to fracture and turn the soil. Individual disk mounts turn the soil over after it has been fractured by the chisel point and mix the residue and the soil after it has been cut and fractured. The finishing attachment is a tine harrow to level after the pass. Both the coulters and the disks can provide on-thego depth control. The approximate horsepower rate is 30 hp per shank. The BT Conquest is available in rigid models from nine shanks to 13 shanks and in folding models from 15 shanks to 19 shanks. The tillage tool is outfitted with 385 truck tires for high flotation. List price range: $42,000 to $69,000.

McFarlane Reel Disk Vertical Tillage Tool
The Reel Disk, a vertical-tillage tool from McFarlane Manufacturing, uses ultra-shallow concave disk blades on 7" centers to penetrate the soil and slice residue into manageable pieces. The gang angle can be set to be more or less aggressive. Behind the disks is a rank of seven-blade, 18"-diameter spiral reels, which are the same spiral reels used on the Reel Till. To leave the seedbed firm, a three-bar spike harrow closely follows the ground contour. A set of 12"-diameter rolling baskets is at the end of the tool. The Reel Disk is available in working widths up to 35', and the operating speeds range from 7 mph to 9 mph. Base price range: $21,357 to $51,679. Contact: McFarlane Manufacturing, P.O. Great Plains Turbo-Chopper Tillage Tool
Great Plains also adds two verticaltillage tools to its lineup. The Turbo- Chopper provides a crisscross pattern of worked ground as the front row of 20" Turbo coulters on 10" spacings is followed by gangs of reels, which have a unique spiral design to minimize vibration.
