  • Top off LP supplies, extend coverage for grain dryers and home heat.
  • National supplies are strong but concentrated demand is creating a transport bottleneck.
  • South Dakota, North Dakota & Minnesota are under an Hours of Service Waiver -- Iowa and Wisconsin have filed for similar waivers today. Expect more of the same from neighboring states.

UPDATE 10/28: Montana, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Illinois are now under Hours of Service Waivers as well.

LP -- Transport is currently unable to keep up with LP demand for agricultural use. Contact your preferred supplier immediately and top off LP today. North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota are all under an 'Hours of Service Waiver' which allows drivers to stay on the roads longer in emergency situations. Iowa has applied for an Hours of Service Waiver today and reports are that Wisconsin is working on a Waiver as well. Expect LP delivery delays ahead in the western Belt.

Growers in all states are advised to get in touch with your preferred LP supplier today as trucks will be diverted from one area to another to help move supplies, raising the potential for delays in other states.

A grower in west-central Minnesota reported this morning his supplier will not have LP to deliver for at least a week and an official from the Minnesota Propane Gas industry confirmed that delivery delays will be at least a week and probably two weeks.

Natural gas is currently unaffected by the LP transport constraints.
