Inputs Monitor Regional Market Report -- 3/4/2013

Gainers outpaced decliners during the report week by a margin of 8.63 -- gainers added $10.30 to just $1.67 in declines. Inputs Monitor Regional Index Composite 0.96 points higher week-over -- a 0.20% gain to 461.771. Anhydrous fell slightly along with DAP and K but UAN solutions moved noticeably higher.

Anhydrous falls $0.75 to $881.33; UAN28 climbs $5.83 to $387.33; UAN32 also higher, adds $3.11 to $433.44; Urea increases just $0.42 to $565.75.

DAP moves another $0.42 lower to $643.91; MAP climbs $0.91 to $654.91.

Potash falls another $0.50 week-over to $583.66.

Farm diesel $0.027 higher to $3.587; LP gains $0.002 to $1.498.

Currently December 2013 corn futures are at $5.56 (as of 3/4/13 -- 9:30amCT). With 18% of expected new-crop revenue as our benchmark for primary price resistance, your total NPK should add up to $152.92 per acre. Anhydrous emerges as the least expensive form of Nitrogen, averaging regionally right around $0.55/per pound of N.

The table below gives current pricing per pound based on Nitrogen content for Anhydrous, Urea, UAN28 and UAN32. As an example (in bold below), if a grower in Illinois applies N at 200lbs/acre, current Urea pricing at $0.60/lbN would add up to $120.00 per acre for Nitrogen.
