Inputs Monitor Regional Market Report -- Week Ended 10/12/2012

DAP led advances in the week ended 10/12/2012 - $5.42 higher to $644.50, after having added $5.04 in the previous week -- MAP higher by $1.75 to $662.58; Anhydrous up $1.67 to $852.42.

Potash $2.17 higher week-over to $603.00; UAN28 $1.08 higher to $380.08.

UAN32 plunged to lead decliners week-over -- lower by $16.56 to $429.44; Urea also down a modest $0.75 to $593.75.

Farm diesel $0.013 higher to $3.70 and LP sheds $0.004, slightly lower at $1.35.

Inputs Monitor Regional Index Composite down on the week all told by $0.51 to $463.42.

With high/low figures excluded (Hi-Lo-Ex), Anhydrous shows the only decline -- $0.69 lower to $850.20.

UAN32 led gainers, up $7.69 to $424.57; UAN28 $1.20 higher to $379.20. Potash $4.20 higher to $604.70; Urea $2.80 higher week-over to $594.80.

DAP $4.60 higher to $643.00; MAP $1.90 higher to $660.90 week-over.

Farm diesel added $0.016 to $3.701 and LP upticks just $0.002 to $1.348.

Inputs Monitor Regional Index Hi-Lo-Ex Composite $2.42 higher week-over to $462.49. Differential between the two analyses (standard figures v. hi-lo excluded) stands at $0.93 in favor of the standard analysis.

Outliers of Note:

Missouri LP led outliers to the high side -- regional statewide average for LP in Missouri at $1.58,coming in 17% above regional average. South Dakota Urea 13.2% above regional average at $486.00. Ohio Anhydrous $88.58 high again at $941.00 -- 10.4% over regional average prices.

On the low side, Nebraska LP bottoms out the regional index at $1.19 -- 11.8% below the regional average. Nebraska UAN28 soft this week at $344.00 -- 9.4% below regional, and Nebraska takes the triple crown week-over-week with $786.00 anhydrous -- 7.7% below the region. With the top three outliers to the low side, it may be a good time to book nutrients in Nebraska.
