
National gasoline and highway diesel prices rose across the board during the report week, however, gasoline pricing remained below year-ago levels while highway diesel stayed above -- with one exception.
Gasoline-
Average national retail price for regular gasoline climbed 0.042 to 3.357 per gallon -- 0.082 below year-ago prices.
East Coast gasoline up 0.028 to 3.448; Midwest region adding 0.065 to 3.289; Gulf Coast 0.012 higher to 3.164; Rocky Mountain gasoline moves 0.101 higher to 2.981 and West Coast 0.042 higher to 3.545.
Highway Diesel --
National average price for highway diesel 0.025 higher nationwide, ending the report week at 3.927 -- 0.077 above year-ago.
East Coast 0.023 higher to 4.023; Midwest highway diesel up 0.021 to 3.866; Gulf Coast 0.014 higher to 3.845; Rocky Mountain regional diesel increases 0.058 to 3.736 -- the only region to post below year-over pricing -- and West Coast regional diesel up 0.045 to end the week higher at 4.049.
Crude Oil --
March 2013 Crude oil has been exploring the top end of the range for two weeks, running up to $97.82 per barrel earlier in a day's range from 96.46 to 97.82. The March contract continues to edge toward posychological resistance at 100.00 even, but is presently trending lower.
March 13 Crude has climbed 1.11 so far today -- currently up 0.89 at 97.33.
