Most national gasoline prices fell over the week ending October 12, but all regions were up on the year-over. Diesel fuel prices were higher across the board both in the week-over and the year-over.

Gasoline-

Average national retail price for regular gasoline was down $0.031 last week to $3.819/gallon, $0.343 higher than the same period last year. East Coast gasoline was lower $0.006 to $3.792 with the lower Atlantic PADD1C adding $0.024 to $3.691; Midwest gasoline lower to $3.685/gallon, down $0.087; Gulf Coast PADD3 $0.007 higher to $3.544/gallon. Rocky Mountain gasoline softens $0.014 to $3.734.

West Coast gas softened $0.018 to $4.391 but remained the highest priced gasoline in the U.S. California had an uncharacteristic softening effect on West Coast gasoline prices on a correction from the intense pricing action of the past few weeks. West Coast region less California up $0.013 to $3.991.

Highway Diesel-

National average diesel prices were all higher last week by $0.056 to $4.150/gallon, up $0.349 over the same time last year. Rocky Mountain Region added $0.074 to $4.268/gallon; East Coast diesel at $4.1258, higher by $0.031; Midwest diesel $0.110 higher on the week to $4.128/gallon. The West Coast region added $0.027 to $4.346.
