As art director, Beth touches every part of Farm Journal from cover to Tailgate Talk. Dynamic layouts, selecting high-quality photography and creating informative illustrations are all part of the daily tasks Beth undertakes to make reading Farm Journal visually pleasing.
Growing up in a farming community had a big influence on her outlook on life and artwork. After graduating from University of Missouri with a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design, Beth worked at the No. 1 CBS affiliate television station in Nashville, Tenn. During her six-year tenure there, she earned a 2008 Emmy award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for her work on informational news graphics and animations.
Along with her husband, Jason, Beth returned to central Missouri to work for Farm Journal in 2008, to be near her family and to have the opportunity to stand directly in the field she is painting—instead of just looking at a photo of one.
