I am seriously considering buying this market on any significant break. I realize this theory may prove to be costly and short lived, but you simply can not argue the recent price action and stability of this market.

Demand remains very strong on the export side and some cash market sources are indicating that farmers have already sold or pre-hedged an unusually large amount of old and new crop corn. I think we might be in for some very tight supplies down the road sooner than we have anticipated. In addition you have to start wondering if the current low price, traditional stability of this market, and limited downside risk might make Corn the ultimate safe haven for large traders and funds who may be selling in other markets based on risk aversion. You also have to wonder with the recent huge gains in the US Dollar has China thinking that they have found a way to swap out some of those deflated green-backs for cheap corn. I am only 40% sold and holding for higher ground. I do have some hedges in place, as i thought for certain we where heading lower, know I am just not so sure that is going to be the case. There will be some downside volatility, but I think we could realistically see a close above $4.00 and maybe even $4.50 again in the Dec.

SOYBEANS: You can’t say I didn’t tell you! There is just very little fundamental news to offset the bearish influence of the collapsing outside markets these days. On the bullish side there has been some concerns with labor issues in Argentina and planting delays in China but weakness in the US and China stock markets along with the surging US dollar crushed those thoughts. On top of that you have Brazil's crop supply agency division of the Ministry of Agriculture - Conab - raising its estimate of their soybean crop to 67.86 million tonnes from 67.39 million in April. This is up 19% from last year. Sure we may see some technical bounces higher like we did to close the week, but I think for the most part we will be headed lower until there is a weather scare or reason to shift the recent pull back in prices.

Many traders may want to consider spreading Corn against Soybeans to play the break that could take place.
