July 27, 2010

An aspiring research agronomist is sharing his knowledge with agricultural journalists at the Ag Media Summit in St. Paul Minn., this week. Plymouth, Ind., Jr. High student Evan Davenport has wowed science fair judges with his project studying soil inoculants. This aspiring agronomist has garnered regional acclaim and even a $10,000 scholarship from Bethel College for his work.

Davenport, who says he’s not ready for college just yet, did the project to enhance his knowledge of soils and how soybeans work in a crop rotation with corn.
