Harvest 2013: Top Combine Success Tips from Claas

Farmers who made it through harvest last year in spite of the drought should remember one thing heading into the fall: tweaks to the combine are important to the overall success of the season.

"Year after year, they were having good harvesting conditions," says Christopher Girodat, product specialist for Claas of America. "Some guys had never changed anything within the machine or even changed the speeds from the previous year."

Among the components Lexion operators should spend some time with before heading to the field this fall are rotors, cylinders and crop-specific grates for the machine’s APS threshing system.
