Introduced as the most versatile John Deere tractors yet, the 7R Series includes five models ranging from 164 PTO hp to 232 PTO hp.

The 7R tractors are powered by Tier 4 Interim compliant 6.8 L PowerTech PSX engines or 9.0 L PowerTech PSX engines. Compared with the 7030 Series it replaces, the 7R Series features more horsepower, more hydraulic capacity, a larger fuel tank and greater hitch lift capacity. The overall length stayed the same, but it is 4" shorter in the front and the wheelbase grew 3" for greater stability and to accommodate larger rear tires. These tractors can be geared with a new infinitely variable transmission, which under load runs at 1,600 rpm instead of 1,800 rpm for increased fuel efficiency. The AutoQuad transmission controls are positioned on the Command Arm. When the tractor is outfitted with Efficiency Manager, the operator can set target speed and the tractor runs at the most efficient settings.
