1938 Farmall F-20
Nov 12, 2012
This tractor is featured for the month of August in the 2013 Classic Farm Tractors Calendar.
This three-generations-family Farmall-20 was a centerpiece of Beck’s Hybrids 75th anniversary observance in August 2011. Sonny Beck’s farther, Francis Beck, and grandfather, Lawrence, purchased the tractor in the fall of the 1937. It was the first tractor Sonny drove, at age five. Today, Sonny is president of Beck’s Hybrids. International Harvester replaced the Farmall Regular with the F-20 in 1032. Nearly 150,000 F-20s were sold during its 9-year production run, ending in 1939. F-20 options included rubber tires, wide front ends and adjustable wide front ends. You could buy one for $895 to $1000. (Beck’s Hybrids is the largest family-owned seed company in the U.S., located in Atlanta, Indiana).
Owners: Sonny and Glenda Beck
The Becky’s Hybrids tractor has been in the Beck family since it was brand-new. It was restored by Devon Wilkin, Westfield, Ind., is almost completely original, and was completed just in time for the anniversary.
