International 238 Used in a Graveyard

This International 238 was purchased new on July 11, 1979 from River City International in Mason City by the Elmwood-St. Joseph Municipal Cemetery. The tractor was equipped with a cab, a flail mower and a backhoe, and spent 30 years hauling dirt carts, mowing grass and digging graves. The most interesting twist is how the tractor came to be in Iowa. The 238 is the British version of the International 384, and this machine bears a serial number plate that indicates it was built by the International Harvester of Great Britain. The tractor is now retired from service, and has a place on the floor of the Farmall-Land Museum in Avoca, Iowa.
