Maryland’s eastern shore is a beautiful region, perfect for this stunning 59-year-old, purchased new from W.W. Montague, a Massey dealership in Sudlersville, Maryland, by Newell B. Everett (deceased) and now owned by two of his sons, Spencer and Newell Jr., who take it to various shows in the U.S. and Canada. The family had two Massey-Harris 44 tractors to do heavy work, so this Mustang pulled planters, drills, hay rakes and wagon. Rated hp: 23.91 at 1,800 rpm. Built in Racine, Wisc., it cost right at $1,800, with extras such as the Velvet Ride Seat, $29. Engine: 140 cid Continental flathead made by Chrysler. This Mustang never had lights, extra weights, a belt pulley or hour meter. It’s a show-stopper.

They were strictly a Massey family and even when they quit farming, their father used the Mustang for an extra-large garden. A friend, John Hill, did the complete restoration, getting missing parts from the Midwest and West Coast.
