The high cost of fuel is mostly responsible for the mess that we are in today. When you are paying all of your income for gas to get to work and heat to heat your house and food, there is not anything for the loan payment. When the trucks come to pickup the milk they had to raise the hauling rate and add a fuel surcharge. Besides that the Co-op said that they were subsidising the hauling. The Milk plants said they had to have more for the make allowance because of the fuel. The stores had to pay more to get the products to sell. When the fuel first went up, I went to the machinery place to buy a mixer and they told me that the freight they had to pay to get it to their place went up $700.00.
maybe we shouldn't have borrowed so much so there would be such a high loan payment? blaming the high cost of fuel for our problems is too easy. start with the " i want it all now" attitude of the american consumer and you will start to uncover the truth of the problems we are encountering. the debt level in america has it teetering on the brink of collapse.
