“On The Farm” Educator Advocates for Agriculture

February 15, 2012 04:16 PM

Chris Fesko laughs as she recounts how she became interested in developing a program to help educate people about the practical aspects of agriculture.
The one-time science teacher says a woman stopped by her family’s upstate New York farm and wanted to take a picture of one of the Feskos’ horses.
"Only thing was, it was actually one of our cows; she just didn’t know the difference," Chris recalls.
That encounter sparked a desire in the Skaneateles, New York, dairy farmer to start an educational video series to teach people about the everyday aspects of life on the farm. Listen here as she shares more about her work and how she is reaching school children and adults across the country.
