2011 Farm Journal Forum

The stakes are high for agriculture to deliver on its responsibility to feed the world's burgeoning population while preserving and maximizing resources. To help address this issue, Farm Journal Media is proud to announce the 2011 Farm Journal Forum, which this year will focus on efforts to achieve global food security.

The goal of this year's Forum, hosted in partnership with Informa Economics, is to offer intelligent discussion and insight relative to critical food and farming issues and, through that discussion, to foster education and more enlightened decisions on U.S. food, agricultural and environmental policies.

The Farm Journal Forum will be held Dec. 5-6 at the Capital Hilton, 1001 16th Street NW, Washington D.C., just two blocks from the White House.

Joining the Forum as a key speaker will be Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), ranking member on the Senate Ag Committee and a seasoned lawmakers with keen insights on a host of hot topics: the now stalled farm bill process, the bankruptcy of MF Global, ongoing issues surrounding regulations that will affect agriculture and more.

Other confirmed speakers at the luncheon include keynote speaker Howard G. Buffett, former Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman, Bruce Scherr and Jim Wiesemeyer of Informa Economics, Lisa Davis of Feeding America, Sam Willett of the National Corn Growers Association, Fred Hoffner of the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition, and Kent Lanclos of the Risk Managment Agency.

The presenting sponsor for the event is the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, in association with the Farmers Feeding the World initiative.
