4/29/2013 ALERT: Deep Declines in Farm Diesel

April 30, 2013 05:40 AM

South Dakota farm diesel moved a full 20 cents lower in this week's Monitor Index. Currently at $3.42/gallon locally. That is a good 5 cents lower than the regional average of $3.473. Pricing spikes have been known to follow demand and as many South Dakota growers are still waiting for favorable field conditions, now may be a good time to top off.

Kansas farm diesel is low again this week as well, dropping 10 cents to post the lowest priced farm diesel in our Index at $3.32/gallon -- 15 cents below the regional average. Here again, we may see crop progress fuel upticks on a demand push.

Check with your preferred retailer as prices may vary, but the iron is hot for striking a deal on farm diesel in South Dakota and Kansas.
