If you've delayed succession planning for your operation because you don't know where to begin, Farm Journal Media wants to help to get you started.
We're launching the Farm Journal Legacy Project, which will provide practical advice for farm secession planning. Our entire media family—Dairy Today, Farm Journal, Top Producer, Beef Today, Pro Farmer, "U.S. Farm Report,” "AgDay” and AgWeb--will participate in the project.
We'll provide practical information, offer viable solutions and techniques, and point you to reliable resources for planning.
We're also reaching out to farm families and are offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a case study and receive succession planning expertise from our Legacy Project Team.
Three crop or livestock farms will be selected. Though we will chronicle their progress in the pages of our print, internet and broadcast media, no pertinent financial or confidential information will be revealed.
The intent is to highlight the succession planning and implementation process. It will give a real-life view of the cares and concerns of the family, and encourage others to embark on the journey.
Kevin Spafford, Farm Journal's Succession Solutions columnist and founder of Legacy by Design, will lead the consulting team that works with the three selected farm families.
Enter your farm. If you'd like to be considered as one of three families to participate in the Farm Journal Legacy Project, send a two-page letter that shares an on overview of your operation, your succession planning frustrations and goals to:
P.O. Box 13018,
Des Moines, Iowa 50310.
The deadline is August 31. For questions, send an e-mail to [email protected].
