A Peek Inside Bayer and Monsanto's Lobby Efforts

As consumers care more about how their food and fiber is produced, agribusiness has dedicated increasing dollars towards lobbying. For example, Nasdaq reports that Monsanto and Bayer have spent $2.5 million and $3.6 million, respectively, on lobbying this year.

For the past decade, the companies have focused major efforts towards GMO labelling concerns, spending a combined $120 million lobbying on this issue alone, Nasdaq reports.
