A Decision-Making Corn Head

February 18, 2010 09:40 AM

Drago's corn head features unique technologies that allows it to reduce shelling loss, says Drago's Dustin Bollig.
This is accomplished by several key features:

-- Automatic, self-adjusting deck plates: The header's plates self-adjust to the size of each stalk. "As different size stalks come in, the spring is constantly making thousands of decisions for you," Bollig says.

-- Knife rollers: The head includes the longest knife roller in the industry, which reduces grain loss and butt-shelling.

-- Optional stalk chopper: The blades do not chop the stalk until the ear is removed, which helps reduce shelling loss.
