The Association of Equipment Manufactures released their sales report for April 2009.
 
Tractor sales continue to decline. The largest decrease was in the two-wheel drive tractors of 40 horsepower and less than 100 horsepower with a 26.3% decrease in April 2009 compared to April 2008. The year-to-date sales difference between 40 horsepower and less than 100 horsepower tractors in 2008 and 2009 declined 25.5%.
 
Four-wheel drive tractors are still going strong as sales increased 29% and the year-to-date sales increased 4.4%.
 
Self-propelled combines remain positive with a 33.8% increase and a year-to-date increase of 29.4%.
 
Total retail sales reported still lag behind the five year average.
