AEM June 2009 Flash Report

The Association of Equipment Manufactures (AEM) released their sales report for June 2009.

Small tractor sales continue to decline. The highest decrease was two-wheel drive tractors of 40 horsepower and less than 100 horsepower with a 22.4% decrease in June 2009 compared to June 2008. The year-to-date sales difference between 40 horsepower and less than 100 horsepower tractors in 2008 and 2009 declined 26.6%.

Four-wheel drive tractor sales declined slightly. Category sales decreased 4.4%, however the year-to-date sales show an increase of 5.7%.

Self-propelled combines also remain positive with a 20.2% increase and a year-to-date increase of 29.4%.

Total retail sales reported are significantly lower than the five year average.
