SEVERE WEATHER:
 GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. A WILD MIX OF WEATHER IS HITTING DIFFERENT REGIONS OF THE COUNTRY. AND IT MIGHT HAVE YOU ASKING "WHAT SEASON IS IT"...AND THAT'S OUR TOP STORY ON AGDAY. WE BEGIN OUR WEATHER COVERAGE WITH SOME INCREDIBLE FOOTAGE FROM WESTERN IOWA.
IOWA TWISTER:
 A TORNADO TORE THE ROOF FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL IN LAKE CITY, IOWA SUNDAY. ABOUT 150 STUDENTS, FAMILY AND FACULTY WERE ATTENDING AN AWARDS CEREMONY INSIDE. THE PEOPLE GOT TO THE SAFETY OF A LOCKER ROOM JUST TWO MINUTES BEFORE THE TWISTER HIT.
HURRICANE WX:
 HURRICANE HUNTERS HIT THE SKIES TO GET AN AERIAL VIEW OF 'ON-UH". THE TROPICAL STORM FORMED THREE WEEKS EARLIER THAN THE ATLANTIC HURRICANE SEASON OFFICIALLY BEGINS. BUT THE CHIEF OF THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER SAYS THE SUB-TROPICAL STORM IS NOT A HARBINGER OF THINGS TO COME THIS SEASON.
PLANTING PROGRESS:
THANKS BETSY. IN BETWEEN STORMS AND RAIN SHOWERS, PLANTING PROGRESS CONTINUES. USDA ROLLING OUT ITS LATEST CROP UPDATE LATE MONDAY…
NORTH DAKOTA DRY PLANTING:
NORTH DAKOTA FARMERS ARE ALMOST FINISHED PUTTING IN THE 2015 CROP.
FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS PRODUCERS WERE FORCED TO WAIT UNTIL MAY TO BEGIN SEEDING BECAUSE OF WET WEATHER, BUT A DRY WINTER HELPED SPRING FIELD WORK GET STARTED IN LATE MARCH AND APRIL. AND NOW AS CLIFF NAYLOR REPORTS, PLANTING IS WAY AHEAD OF SCHEDULE.
INDIANA AVIAN FLU:
AVIAN FLU HAS NOW REACHED A NEW STATE IN THE MIDWEST - INDIANA. BUT IT'S ALSO A DIFFERENT STRAIN. USDA SAYS THERE'S A PROBABLE CASE IN WHITLEY COUNTY, WHICH IS IN THE NORTHEAST REGION OF THE STATE. THIS CASE INVOLVES THE H-5-N-8 STRAIN, NOT THE H5N2 THAT'S BEEN SWEEPING THE MIDWEST. USDA SAYS IT WAS DISCOVERED IN A BACKYARD FLOCK OF MIXED POULTRY.
TPA VOTE:
IN WASHINGTON, THE FIRST TRADE SHOWDOWN VOTE IN THE U.S. SENATE IS SET FOR TUESDAY AFTERNOON.  IT WILL TAKE 60-VOTES TO HEAD OFF DEMOCRATIC LEADER HARRY REID'S BID TO STALL TRADE PROMOTION AUTHORITY. THE PRESIDENT IS PUSHING FOR THE RIGHT TO NEGOTIATE TRADE DEALS WITH FOREIGN COUNTRIES INCLUDING THE TRANS PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP. GOP LEADER MITCH MCCONNELL TELLING DEMOCRATS OVER THE WEEKEND IT MIGHT BE TOUGH TO SUSTAINING A FILIBUSTER CONSIDERING HOW PARTISAN THE VOTE WAS IN COMMITTEE.
CHUCK DENNEY STANDUP TEASE:
I'M CHUCK DENNEY UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AGRICULTURE STUDENTS GIVE BACK TO KNOXVILLE COMMUITY IN THE DAYS BEFORE SCHOOL COMES TO AN END THAT STORY COMING UP ON AGDAY.
DTR DAIRY EXPORTS:
 IN OUR DAIRY TODAY REPORT, U.S. DAIRY EXPORTS SEEING STRONG DEMAND THANKS TO TWO MAJOR BUYERS. SHIPMENTS IN MARCH WERE THEIR BEST IN 9 MONTHS THANKS TO RECORD HIGH ORDERS FROM BOTH MEXICO AND SOUTH KOREA. EXPORT VOLUMES WERE UP NEARLY 20 PERCENT COMPARED TO FEBRUARY--VALUES NEARLY 15 PERCENT HIGHER. BUT EVEN THOUGH THE NUMBERS ARE AN IMPROVEMENT, EXPORTS ARE STILL WELL BELOW 2014 LEVELS OVERALL.
DTR CALI 4B PRICING:
MEANWHILE IN CALIFORNIA, DAIRY PRODUCERS CONTINUE TO PUSH FOR AN INCREASE IN THE PRICE OF WHEY. THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE PLANNING A JUNE THIRD HEARING TO DISCUSS THE CLASS 4-B PRICE FORMULA. THE DEPARTMENT SAYS CURRENT CONDITIONS WARRANT A LOOK AND SHORT TERM ADJUSTMENTS TO PRICING MAY BE NEEDED. SOME PRODUCER GROUPS SAY THE CURRENT WHEY PRICING FORMULA UNVALUES THE PRODUCT. THEY ESTIMATE MORE THAN 1 BILLION DOLLARS IN LOST REVENUE FOR STATE DAIRIES.
DTR BLUE BELL:
THE FDA IS RELEASING RESULTS OF AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE BLUE BELL ICE CREAM LISTERIA OUTBREAK. IT SHOWS THAT THE COMPANY FOUND LISTERIA BACTERIA ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2013. FDA SAYS IT WAS NEVER MADE AWARE OF THOSE FINDINGS. COMPANIES ARE REQUIRED TO REPORT TO THE FDA IF THEY FIND REASONABLE PROBABILITY A FOOD COULD MAKE PEOPLE SICK. THE BLUE BELL SAMPLES WERE REPORTEDLY FOUND ON SURFACES AND NOT IN THE ICE CREAM. THREE PEOPLE HAVE DIED IN CONNECTION TO LISTERIA FOUND IN BLUE BELL ICE CREAM.
