WX:
WELCOME BACK TO AGDAY HERE WITH METEOROLOGIST MIKE HOFFMAN. MIKE WE'VE KIND OF BEEN WATCHING THIS SYSTEM UP HERE IN THE NORTHERN PACIFIC BUT IT LOOKS LIKE ITS BRINGING SOME RAIN. YEAH SOME DECENT RAIN AND ACTUALLY THAT WILL HEAD EASTWARD AS WE HEAD INTO THE WEEKEND AND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK WITH A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN AS WELL SO THAT'S SOMETHING WE'LL BE WATCHING. STORM SYSTEM STILL OFF THE NORTHEAST COAST THAT WAS THERE SEVERAL DAYS AGO.... IT’S STILL CAUSING RAIN IN PARTS OF NEW ENGLAND. MUCH OF NEW ENGLAND ACTUALLY BUT IT IS FINALLY DRYING OUT IN THE MID ATLANTIC STATES. ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM MOVING THROUGH EXTREME SOUTHERN FLORIDA CAUSING A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN...SO NEITHER ONE OF THOSE GONG TO CAUSE TOO MUCH IN THE WAY OF PROBLEMS...OFF TO THE WEST LIKE YOU SAID ACTUALLY WE'RE LOOKING AT A PRETTY GOOD STORM COMING IN OUT WEST THERE CLINTON. LOTS OF RAIN COMING IN WITH THIS WHOLE SYSTEM AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE EASTWARD. AS YOU CAN SEE AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE DAY TODAY. THERE'S JUST NOTHING ACROSS THE CORN BELT WHICH IS FANTASTIC NEWS. NOW WE DO HAVE THIS WEAK COOL FRONT WHICH IS GOING TO KIND OF SLOW DOWN THE WARM UP FOR A DAY OR TWO ACROSS THE NORTHERN TIER OF STATES BUT THERE'S NO MOISTURE ALONG IT. SO REALLY ACTIVITY IN THE FIELDS CAN JUST CONTINUE THE W AY IT LOOKS FOR MOST OF THE CORN BELT. THE RAIN DOES COME IN OUT WEST BUT THAT'S GOOD NEWS FOR CENTRAL CALIFORNIA, NORTHERN CALIFORNIA SO MORE RAIN COMING IN THERE. VERY LITTLE RAIN TO THE EAST... JUST A FEW SPOTS IN THE NORTHERN GREAT LAKES... FAR NORTHEAST AND PARTS OF FLORIDA...AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW THEN YOU CAN SEE A FEW SHOWERS DO START TO BREAK OUT IN THE EASTERN GREAT LAKES AND NEW YORK STATE. THOSE AREAS ALONG THAT COLD FRONT BUT THE REST OF IT IS ALL DRY. SO DESPITE A COUPLE DEGREE COOL DOWN BEHIND THIS FRONT WE'LL SEE THIS ACTIVITY CONTINUING ONCE AGAIN. FOR ANYBODY THAT WANTS TO BE OUT IN THE FIELDS. RAIN INTO CENTRAL AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BUT MOST OF IT STILL IN OREGON AND WASHINGTON WITH THAT NEXT STORM SYSTEM...THERE'S THE PRECIPITATION ESTIMATE OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS... YOU CAN SEE NOT A LOT OVER MOST OF THE CORN BELT. MOST OF IT IS NORTHEAST OR NORTHWEST. LETS ADD ON THE NEXT 36 HOURS AND YOU'LL SEE THAT WE ADD VERY LITTLE ACROSS THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRY IN FACT OUR MODEL DOESN'T EVEN SHOW A TENTH OF AN INCH ANYWHERE ACROSS THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRY. JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE IN NEW ENGLAND BUT A LOT MORE IN PARTS OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, WESTERN OREGON AND WESTERN WASHINGTON… TAKING A LOOK AT TEMPERATURES TODAY VERY NICE ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PLAINS LOTS OF 80'S SHOWING UP THERE...50’S IN THE EASTERN GREAT LAKES...40'S IN NEW ENGLAND, BUT YOU CAN SEE FROM THE TENNESSEE AND OHIO RIVER, VALLEY NORTHWARD ITS 60'S AND 70'S WHICH IS PRETTY AWESOME FOR THE LATTER PARTS OF OCTOBER. A LITTLE BIT CHILLY AIR OBVIOUSLY IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST... LOWS TONIGHT THEN...GOING TO BE A LOT OF 40'S AND 50'S ACROSS THE CENTRAL PORTIONS OF THE COUNTRY. THE CORN BELT... BUT FROM THE CENTRAL PLAINS SOUTHWARD LOWS IN THE 60'S WHICH IS AGAIN IS AMAZING FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. 80'S AGAIN TOMORROW INTO KANSAS AND SOUTHERN MISSOURI. 60'S AND 70'S NORTHERN PLAINS AND EVEN 60'S COMING BACK INTO THE EASTERN GREAT LAKES AND PARTS OF NEW ENGLAND. THERE'S THE JET STREAM AND YOU CAN SEE THAT CUT OFF LOW THAT'S FINALLY GETTING PUSHED OFF TO THE NORTHEAST. ITS KIND OF REPLACED BY ANOTHER SLOW MOVER AND YOU CAN SEE THAT STORM SYSTEM MOVING ACROSS THE COUNTRY FROM WEST TO EAST. NEXT WEEK THAT ACTUALLY IS THE REMNANTS OF ANNA FROM A WEEK AND A HALF AGO BACK TO THE WEST. AND THAT MAY BE SHOWING SOME COLD AIR BEHIND IT LATE NEXT WEEK INTO THE WEEKEND. THAT'S A LOOK ACROSS THE COUNTRY NOW LETS TAKE A LOOK AT SOME LOCAL FORECASTS. FIRST OF ALL FOR BILLINGS MONTANA TODAY PARTLY SUNNY AND MILD... HIGH TEMPERATURE AROUND 65 DEGREES... JACKSON MISSISSIPPI MOSTLY SUNNY AND BEAUTIFUL HIGH OF 77, AND AUGUSTA MAINE CLOUDY AND WINDY WITH RAIN SHOWERS HIGH OF JUST 50....
