IN AGRIBUSINESS...WHAT'S THE OUTLOOK FROM OUR GRAIN BUYERS IN ASIA. BUT THERE'S A LOT OF PRODUCT STUCK IN THESE CONTAINER CARGO'S IN PORTS IN CHINA. TEXAS FARMERS GET AN UN-WELCOME VISITOR IN THEIR FIELDS. AND, LOUISIANA RESEARCHERS TRY TO IMPROVE ON OYSTERS. AGDAY BROUGHT TO YOU BY CHEVY SILVERADO 2014 NORTH AMERICAN TRUCK OF THE YEAR.
COTTON STOCKS:
GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. IT'S BEEN AN UP AND DOWN COUPLE OF WEEKS FOR THE NATION'S COTTON GROWERS...AND THAT'S OUR TOP STORY ON AGDAY.
COTTON ACREAGE:
ACTUALLY, INTERESTING ENOUGH, A LOT OF THE GUYS ARE SWITCHING TO MORE PEANUTS. THAT'S MORE OF A GOVERNMENT PROGRAM CONCERN AS PEANUTS HAVE A LITTLE BIT BETTER SUPPORT THERE ON THE MARKET, COTTON AND CORN UNFORTUNATELY HAVE FALLEN OFF A BIT.
CROP WATCH:
SOME COTTON FIELDS IN ARKANSAS TOOK A SEVERE BEATING IN A RECENT STORM JUST AS HARVEST WAS GETTING UNDERWAY. MIKE HOFFMAN TAKES A LOOK IN CROPWATCH, MIKE.
BB HARVEST TOUR:
THE I-80 HARVEST TOUR IS BROUGHT TO SPONSORED BY THE ENLIST WEED CONTROL SYSTEM FROM DOW AGROSCIENCES. A NEW HERBICIDE AND TREAT SYSTEM THAT WILL BUILD ON GLYPHOSATE…
ALLENDALE YIELD:
ON FRIDAY USDA WILL RELEASE ITS OCTOBER CROP PRODUCTION AND SUPPLY FIGURES. ALLENDALE INCORPORATED RELEASED ITS PRE-TRADE ESTIMATES. IT EXPECTS CORN YIELD TO COME IN AT 175-AND-A-HALF BUSHELS AN ACRE WITH PRODUCTION AT 14-POINT-SIX BILLION BUSHELS. THAT'S IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PACK FOR THE AVERAGE TRADE ESTIMATE.
THE NATIONAL SOYBEAN YIELD ESTIMATE FROM ALLENDALE IS 48 BUSHELS, PRODUCING A FOUR BILLION BUSHEL CROP. THAT'S A BIT ABOVE THE AVERAGE TRADE ESTIMATE.
ALLENDALE EXPECTS USDA WILL LOWER ITS HARVESTED ACREAGE ESTIMATE IN BOTH CROPS.
TEASE:
STILL TO COME - WE HAVE OUR DAILY STOP AT THE CHICAGO BOARD OF TRADE. PLUS FARM DIRECTOR AL PELL DISCUSSES THE DDG MARKET WITH GREGG HUNT OF ARCHER FINANCIAL.

CME REPORT:
IN AGRIBUSINESS...WHILE STOCKS ON TUESDAY WERE LOWER, COMMODITIES WERE MOSTLY IN THE GREEN MORE FROM THE FLOOR OF THE CME.
ANALYSIS INTRO:
AS HARVEST COMES IN, IT'S WORLD DEMAND THAT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO HELP MOVE MARKETS. BUT ARE THE GOOD TIMES OVER FOR U.S. GROWERS? FARM DIRECTOR AL PELL.
ANALYSIS HUNT:
HERE AT THE AGRIBUSINESS DESK WE'RE TALKING WITH GREGG HUNT ARCHER FINANCIAL SERVICES WE'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT DDG'S AND CHINA THEY WE'RE BUYING THOSE LIKE I DON'T KNOW WHAT ALL AND THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THEY GOT DEFACTO NOT USING THEM. RIGHT SO AND BASICALLY YOU KNOW WE GOT A DEFACTO EMBARGO YOU KNOW CHINA'S PUT ON US CORN I MEAN AND OBVIOUSLY DDGS THOSE ALL THOSE SHIPMENTS 4 5 MILLION METRIC TONS GOING INTO THAT COUNTRY IS A LOT AND I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT NUMBER BUT THERE'S A LOT OF PRODUCT STUCK IN THESE CONTAINER CARGO'S IN PORTS IN CHINA THAT IS IN LIMBO BECAUSE CHINA IS NOT GOING TO APPROVE THEM TO ENTER THE COUNTRY INTO THE FOOD SYSTEM.  AT LEAST PRESENTLY. YES BUT IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT'S HAPPENING.  OKAY, AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE THERE WHERE AS THERE'S STILL BUYING CORN FROM UKRAINE THEY GOT A DEAL THERE TO BUY 3 MILLION METRIC TONS OUT OF THEM BUT YOU KNOW AS WE MOVE FORWARD HERE THAT'S BACKING UP DDGS OBVIOUSLY IN THE US WHICH IS PUTTING A WEAK TONE ON THE SOYBEAN MEAL SO THAT'S THE YOU KNOW THE AFFECT OF THAT BUT THEN AGAIN CHINA'S GOT TO COME BACK REPLACE THOSE DDGS THAT THEY WERE USING AND IT WILL END UP HAVE TO BUY MORE WORLD SOYBEANS OFF THE MARKET SO THEY'LL PROBABLY HAVE TO BUY 4 5 MILLION MORE METRIC MILLION METRIC TONS OF BEANS OFF THE WORLD MARKET SO THERE'S  A CATCH 22 GOING ON THAT BUT THE THING THAT BOTHERS MORE THAN ANYTHING RIGHT NOW AL IS THAT OUR BEST CUSTOMERS OUR ASIAN CUSTOMERS THEY DON'T WANT TO USE AMERICA AS SOLE AS THE SOLE ENTITY FOR CORN ANYMORE.  REALLY THAT'S WHY THEY ARE GOING TO ENCOURAGE UKRAINE AND OBVIOUSLY YOU KNOW THEY HAVE BEEN BUYING OUT OF ARGENTINA BUT EVEN THE CHINESE WANT TO KEEP ON SEEING THE BRAZILIANS YOU KNOW PRODUCE CORN WHERE THEY CAN BUY FROM THEM SO YOU KNOW THAT'S ONE THING THAT'S CHANGED OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS THE ADVENT OF ETHANOL THESE GUYS JUST HATED IT OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE IT TOOK THE PRICE UP AND THEY WE'RE ALWAYS BUYING IT DIRT CHEAP SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THAT PART OF IT BUT YOU KNOW IT'S SOMETHING THAT'S GOING TO BE TOUGH FOR US TO CAPTURE BUSINESS AS WE MOVE FORWARD. WE ARE STILL IN A WORLD MARKET BUT IT'S GOING TO BE MORE DIFFICULT TO DEAL IN THE WORLD MARKET THE WAY IT IS NOW.  BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO BE CAUGHT IN THE CROSS FIRE YOU KNOW IF WE'RE THE ONLY GUYS AND THEY AIN'T GOING TO PAY 8 BUCKS FOR CORN ANYMORE. GREGG HUNT ARCHER FINANCIAL SERVICES OUR GUEST HERE AGDAY DESK.
