CROP TOUR KICKS OFF, WE HAVE COMPLETE COVERAGE. IN AGRIBUSINESS...WHAT WILL MARKETS BE WATCHING FROM SCOUTS. PLUS, DEERE FORECASTS RISING INCOME, WHAT DO BANKERS THINK. MACHINERY PETE SHARES AN EYE POPPING COMBINE PRICE.  AND ..."WHAT DOES GELATO AND GOAT MILK ALL HAVE IN COMMON? WE'LL TELL YOU AHEAD IN THE SHOW." AGDAY - BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE CHEVY SILVERADO, THE MOST DEPENDABLE, LONGEST-LASTING FULL  SIZE PICKUPS ON THE ROAD.

CROP TOUR BEGINS
GOOD MORNING I'M CLINTON GRIFFITHS. CROP TOUR 18 IS NOW UNDERWAY AS  FIELD SCOUTS SPREAD THROUGH-OUT THE MIDWEST TO FIND THE POTENTIAL  FOR THIS YEAR'S CORN AND SOYBEAN CROPS. FIELD SCOUTS ARE STEPPING-OFF THIS MORNING ON THE FIRST FULL-DAY OF  THE PRO FARMER MIDWEST CROP TOUR, NOW IN ITS 26TH YEAR. AND WE'LL BE TRACKING IT EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. IN THE EASTERN CORN BELT, TEAMS OF SCOUTS ARE DEPARTING FROM NEAR  COLUMBUS OHIO. THEY'LL EVENTUALLY END IN CENTRAL INDIANA TONITE. IN THE WEST - THE CREWS START THEIR DAY IN SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA - WHERE THEY'LL GAUGE CROP POTENTIAL IN THE CORNER COUNTIES OF THE  STATE. "THE CROP TOUR DATA THAT WE RELEASE MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY IS FROM THE FIELD. IT'S ALL  SAMPLE DATA. WHAT WE PULL FROM THE FIELD PUT INTO OUR FORMULAS AND IT SPITS OUT NUMBERS." ....THOSE SAMPLES THAT BRIAN TALKS ABOUT....ABOUT TWO THOUSAND SAMPLES FROM BOTH CORN AND SOYBEAN FIELDS. THOSE SAMPLES ARE COLLECTED AT RANDOM FIELDS ALONG THE VARIOUS  ROUTES. BUT THE CONSISTENCY OF THE APPROACH REMAINS STEADFAST FOR PRO  FARMER. "AND THAT'S WHAT MAKES THE FACT THAT WE'VE WE HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN ON THIS  TOUR FOR MANY YEARS. THEY KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THE CONSISTENCY OF THE SAMPLING METHOD IS. AND I THINK WE GET A REALLY GOOD RESULT. AND I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO FINDING OUT WHETHER WE  HAVE THESE KIND OF RECORD YIELDS. I'VE I WANT TO SEE WHAT 170 BUSHEL YIELD IN SOUTH DAKOTA  LOOKS LIKE." 170 BUSHELS IS WHAT USDA'S AUGUST CROP PRODUCTION REPORT IS FORECASTING FOR THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA, WHICH WOULD BE A RECORD. PROFARMER REMINDS VIEWERS THAT THEIR INTENTIONS ARE NOT TO PROVE OR  DISPROVE USDA'S AUGUST ESTIMATES. THE TEAM SAYS IT'S TRYING TO PROVIDE  A SNAPSHOT OF THE POTENTIAL FOR THE CORN AND SOYBEAN YIELD ACROSS  THE CORN BELT AT THIS PARTICULAR TIME. ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO FOLLOW THE CROP TOUR IS VIA TWITTER.  WE'LL BE USING #P-F-TOUR18 AS OUR HANDLE. . THEY'LL ALSO BE CONSTANT UPDATES ON AGWEB-DOT-COM. WE'LL HAVE DAILY RECAPS ON AGDAY ALL THIS WEEK. AND I'LL HOST A SPECIAL EDITION OF THE CROP TOUR THIS MONDAY WHICH WILL INCLUDE THE OFFICIAL  PRO FARMER CROP ESTIMATE FOR 2018.

DEERE’S FINANCIAL REPORT
DEERE AND COMPANY DOWNPLAYING THE IMPACT SOYBEAN TARIFFS ARE HAVING  ON THE FARM ECONOMY, AS IT ROLLS OUT ITS LATEST FINANCIAL REPORT. DEERE ECONOMISTS SAY THE IMPACT OF STRONGER FUNDAMENTALS FOR  OTHER CROPS IS OUTWEIGHING THE IMPACT OF THE DECLINE IN SOYBEAN  PRICES, THE AG EQUIPMENT MAKER TELLING INVESTORS IT EXPECTS FARMERS' TO MAKE MORE MONEY IN 2019...FORECASTING NET RETURNS PER ACRE TO RISE AS MUCH  AS 20 PERCENT. THAT WOULD BE THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN ABOUT FIVE YEARS, IN THE THIRD QUARTER DEERE IS REPORTING A 42 PERCENT JUMP IN PROFITS  YEAR-OVER-YEAR IT SAYS THE MARKET IS BEING HELPED BY REPLACEMENT DEMAND FOR LARGE  AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT. TOTAL EQUIPMENT SALES ROSE 36% FROM A YEAR AGO.

RURAL MAINSTREET INDEX
RURAL BANKERS ARE MORE TEPID IN THEIR OUTLOOK. THE LATEST RURUAL MAINSTREET INDEX FOUND ABOUT A THIRD OF BANK CEOS REPORTED REJECTING A HIGHER PERCENTAGE OF FARM LOANS. TYNE MORGAN IS IN INDIANAPOLIS AND SPOKE WITH AG LENDERS ARE ABOUT  RECENT TRENDS AND ULTIMATELY THE OUTLOOK FOR NET FARM INCOME. THANKS SO MUCH. CLINTON YEAH WELL THE RMI LAST WEEK SHOWING THAT MORE AG LENDERS ARE ACTUALLY DENYING FARM LOANS HERE NOW WITH FIRST FINANCIAL JESSICA LEHMANN. JESSICA WHEN  YOU LOOK AT THAT IS THAT THE WHOLE STORY RIGHT NOW. ARE YOU INDEED DENYING MORE FARM LOANS. I THINK THAT THAT MIGHT BE PART OF THE STORY BUT YOU'VE GOT TO LOOK AT IS YOUR BANK AN ORDER TAKER.  THEY ARE AN INDISPENSABLE PARTNER WORKING WITH YOU BECAUSE WHILE THAT INITIAL REQUEST MAY  GET DENIED. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IS A PROPER STRUCTURE THAT'S GOING TO ALLOW THEM TO BE  SUCCESSFUL IN THE LONG TERM. SO YOU MAY BE DENYING SOME OF THOSE LOANS INITIALLY. RIGHT. THAT  DOESN'T MEAN THAT'S THE END OF THE STORY CORRECT. SO IF YOU LOOK AT WORKING CAPITAL AND THEY'RE  COMING AND SAYING HEY I WANT TO HOLD OFF BECAUSE OF GRAIN PRICES CAN YOU JUST FUNDS THE ADDITIONAL FUNDS ON MY OPERATING NOTE OR TURN OUT MY OPERATING NOTE ON REAL ESTATE. WE MAY  BE SAYING THAT'S NOT THE BEST FOR YOUR OPERATION BUT HERE ARE SOME WAYS THAT WE CAN SET THAT  UP AGAINST YOUR INVENTORY OR LOOK AT YOUR LONG TERM PLANS TO BE ABLE TO HELP YOU CASH FLOW IN THE SHORT TERM BUT NOT PUT YOUR BUSINESS IN A HARD SPOT LONG TERM. SO BARRY IN YOUR HEAD IN  THE SAND RIGHT NOW KERING LOOKING AT THE CURRENT ECONOMIC HEADWINDS IS NOT A GOOD THING  FROM A LENDER'S PERSPECTIVE CORRECT. CORRECT SO WE'RE WANTING TO SEE SOME PLANS. YOU KNOW THE THE IDEA OF I'M JUST GOING TO KEEP IT IN THE BIN AND ADD TWO YEARS OF CROPS THAT'S  COMPLETELY ON PRICE IS GOING TO MAKE YOU A SET UP FOR FAILURE IN THE LONG RUN. WHAT WE'RE  LOOKING FOR IS WHAT'S THAT PLAN WINS SUCKERING GOING TO MOVE. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO BE ABLE  TO MAKE THOSE PAYMENTS IN CONSTANT COMMUNICATION. CORRECT CORRECT. SO KNOWING WHAT THAT  PLAN IS AND TALKING TO YOUR LENDER AND SAYING HEY ARE THERE OPPORTUNITIES THAT WE CAN WORK THROUGH TO MAKE SURE THAT MY OPERATION CAN BE SUCCESSFUL. ALL RIGHT JESSICA THANK YOU SO  MUCH. WE APPRECIATE IT. REPORTING FROM INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA. TYNE MORGAN FOR AG DAY.  THANK YOU.

AFRICAN SWINE FEVER
CHINA ALSO DEALING AN INFECTIOUS ANIMAL DISEASE. THE WORLD'S BIGGEST PORK SUPPLIER SCRAMBLING TO CONTAIN AN OUTBREAK  OF AFRICAN SWINE-FEVER.  AUTHORITIES ORDERING WH GROUP--THE PARENT COMPANY OF SMITHFIELD-- TO  SHUTDOWN ONE OF ITS MAIN SLAUGHTERHOUSES FOLLOWING A SECOND OUTBREAK IN TWO WEEKS. THE WH GROUP IS BEING FORCED TO SHUTTER ITS MAIN SLAUGHTERHOUSE FOR  SIX WEEKS. THE NEW CASES OF THE VIRUS WERE FOUND 750 MILES SOUTH OF THE  PREVIOUSLY REPORTED OUTBREAK. MORE THAN 8 THOUSAND PIGS HAVE BEEN CULLED. CHINESE AUTHORITIES ARE BLOCKADING THE REGION, DISPOSING OF PIGS, AND DISINFECTING.  MEANWHILE, THE NATION'S AG MINISTRY SAYS JULY PIG NUMBERS ARE DOWN  2.0% FROM A YEAR AGO. PRIOR, THE COUNTRY'S SAID TODAY.  LATER THIS WEEK, FRESH OPTIMISM AND TEMPERED EXPECTATIONS AHEAD OF LOWER-LEVEL U.S. --CHINA TRADE MEETINGS. THE PRESIDENT SAYING THURSDAY QUOTE... "WE'RE TALKING TO CHINA, THEY VERY MUCH WANT TO TALK. THEY JUST ARE NOT ABLE TO GIVE US AN AGREEMENT THAT IS ACCEPTABLE, SO WE'RE NOT GOING TO  DO ANY DEAL UNTIL WE GET ONE THAT'S FAIR TO OUR COUNTRY."

U.S. CHINA TRADE RELATIONS
A  WHITE HOUSE SPOKESPERSON SAYS THE ADMINISTRATION HAS IDENTIFIED  "SPECIFIC PROBLEMS CHINA NEEDS TO ADDRESS...INCLUDING TAKING STOPPING  MARKET DISTORTION AND FORCING COMPANIES TO TRANSFER TECHNOLOGY.  AT THE SAME TIME THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION IS MOVING AHEAD WITH IMPOSING TARIFFS ON AN ADDITIONAL $200 BILLION WORTH OF CHINESE  IMPORTS.

USDA PROTEIN BUYOUT
A JUST A COUPLE DAYS AFTER ANNOUNCING PLANS TO BUY 50 MILLION DOLLARS  WORTH OF MILK, USDA GETTING OUT THE CHECKBOOK FOR BEEF AND CHICKEN. THE DEPARTMENT OF AG PLANNING TO BUY  UP TO $60 MILLION IN CHICKEN  PRODUCTS AND AN UNSPECIFIED AMOUNT OF U.S. BEEF. THE PRODUCT HEADED FOR THE AGENCY'S NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS.  THE PLAN FOLLOWS A $50 MILLION ANNOUNCEMENT TO BUY MILK FOR NUTRITION  PROGRAMS EARLIER IN THE WEEK.  USDA SAYS THE SECTION 32 PURCHASES ARE INTENDED TO ENCOURAGE  DOMESTIC CONSUMPTION BY DIVERTING THEM FROM THE NORMAL CHANNELS  OF TRADE AND COMMERCE.  THE AG DEPARTMENT STRESSING THE BUYS ARE PART OF THE NORMAL  OPERATIONS UNDER SECTION 32 AND ARE NOT RELATED TO TRADE MITIGATION PLANS ANNOUNCED RECENTLY.

CROP COMMENTS
SCOUTS MAY RUN INTO SOME SOGGY FIELDS. CINDI CLAWSON HAS AN UPDATE  FROM FARM COUNTRY. MIKE.  GOOD MORNING, CLINTON.  PLAIN CITY, OHIO RECEIVING SOME RAIN. JAKOB WILSON SAYS THE RAIN GAUGE  IS A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT TO SEE. HE HOPES THE RAIN WILL FILL THE KERNELS AND  PODS FOR A BONTIFUL HARVEST!  AND THERE'S SOME PRETTY TALL CORN OUT THERE THIS YEAR -BUT WHERE IS  THE TALLEST?  WE DON'T HAVE AN ANSWER BUT THE GUYS AT RUBENACKER FARMS IN  DAHLGREEN, ILLINOIS THINK THEIR CORN CROP IS PRETTY CLOSE - THIS STALK  MEASURE 12 FEET! THAT IS CRAZY. WELL WE'RE GOING TO BE HAVING YOUR NATIONAL FORECAST COMING UP IN JUST A FEW MINUTES. BUT FOR NOW HERE ARE SOME HOMETOWN TEMPS.

TEASE
WE'LL CONTINUE OUR CROP TOUR DISCUSSION AND WHAT MARKETS WILL BE  WATCHING COMING UP IN ANALYSIS PLUS..."THE HIGHEST AUCTION PRICE EVER SEEN ON A COMBINE FOLKS. STICK AROUND. I'LL TELL YOU ABOUT  IT."AND LATER, TAKE A DIP, COOL OFF AND ENJOY A SCOOP OF GELATO--BUT THE  NEW YORK DAIRY MAKING THIS ITALIAN FAVORITE ISN'T YOUR TYPICAL HERD.

FLOOR OF THE CME
IN AGRIBUSINESS WHEAT MARKETS SURGING TO END LAST WEEK ON NEWS OF A  POSSIBLE SLOW DOWN IN EXPORTS FROM RUSSIA. LETS GET DETAILS FROM THE FLOOR OF THE CME IN CHICAGO. NOW THE WHEAT ALSO JUMPED UP. NOW THE RUSSIANS. AG MINISTER DID SAY THAT THEY WERE  CUTTING EXPORTS RIGHT AT 5 O'CLOCK THIS MORNING. HERE IS CHICAGO TIME. THE MARKET STARTED TO  RALLY AND RALLIED ALMOST 30 CENTS. THAT SHORTFALL WOULD LEAD TO INCREASED EXPORTS FORU.S.  WHEAT HELPING TO ALLEVIATE SOME OF THE OVERSUPPLY. SPEAKING OF HEAD OF STEAM THE HOGS WERE  THE REAL NAME OF THE GAME TODAY THAT HOGS WERE SURGING TODAY THAT CHINESE PORK VIRUS OUTBREAK REALLY UNDERPINNED THIS RALLY. THE REPORT CAME OUT THE SECOND REPORT THAT CAME OUT  THAT ANOTHER OUTBREAK HAPPENED 600 MILES AWAY JUST TELLS US THEY DON'T HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THIS DISEASE AND IT'S A DEVASTATING ONE AND IT COULD INFECT THE ENTIRE HERD. NOW WE  HAVE HAD THIS DISEASE BEFORE IN AREAS OF RUSSIA AND EVEN EASTERN EUROPE BUT NEVER IN  EASTERN ASIA. THIS COULD REALLY BE DEVASTATING TO THEM AND TO THE RELIEF OF SOME OF THE PORK  PRODUCERS HERE IN THEU.S. NOW OVER THE WEEKEND WE'RE GOING TO FIND OUT EXACTLY HOW THIS  DISEASE IS WORKING THROUGH THE HERD AND WE'LL BE ABLE TO GET A LITTLE BIT MORE HANDLE ON WHAT ITS EFFECTS WILL BE. SO MONDAY I HANG ONTO YOUR HEAD. I THINK WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A LOT MORE  VOLATILITY. THAT'S ALL FROM THE FLOOR OF THE CME GROUP HERE IN CHICAGO AND VIRGINIA MCGATHEY.

AGRIBUSINESS
AS WE MENTIONED EARLIER THE PROFARMER MIDWEST CROP TOUR KICKS OFF  TODAY. SO WHAT ARE MARKETS WATCHING? TYNE MORGAN ASKS THE QUESTION IN TODAY'S ANALYSIS FROM THE ROAD. HERE NOW AN AG DAY BILL BIEDERMAN. JOE VACLAVIK. CHRIS NARAYANAN LOOKING AT THE FARM  JOURNAL OR EXCUSE ME THE PROFARMER CROP TOUR WERE HAPPENING THIS WEEK. WE'VE SEEN THESE EARLY ESTIMATES FROM USDA BUT WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR THIS WEEK FROM THE FOLKS ON CROPS.  BELL I REALLY WANT TO SEE WHAT'S OUTSIDE THE CENTRAL BASIN OF THE CORN BELT ACROSS ALL THE  STATES I WANT TO SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING UP NORTH AND DOWN SOUTH. SEE WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT TEST WAIT AND SEE WHAT THEY SEE IN THE FIELD I THINK THAT'S GOING TO BE THE KEY ON THE CORN. JOE  WHAT ARE YOU WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING. JUST ANY MAJOR DISCREPANCY BETWEEN WHAT THE CROP  REFINES AND WHAT USDA HAS TOLD US ABOUT THE CROPS. THAT IS WHAT WOULD BE OF INTEREST TO ME. I DON'T NECESSARILY AGREE WITH ALL THE USDA PROJECTIONS AT THIS POINT BUT AS I SAID I DON'T TRY TO  FIGHT THEM TO HARD EITHER SO I'D LIKE TO SEE WHAT THE CROP TO FIND IN RELATION TO USDA I GUESS OF  COURSE YOU'RE NOT ON CROP TO THIS WEEK BUT HOW MANY YEARS DID YOU ACTUALLY GO ON THE  PROFARMER CROP TO I BELIEVE IT WAS 10 10 YEARS. SO AS YOU ARE WATCHING NOW FROM YOUR DESK  AND NOT IN THE FIELD WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE. WELL I MEAN I GUESS I'M GOING TO PIGGYBACK WITH YOU ALL THAT YOU SAID. YOU KNOW I WANT TO SEE SOME KIND OF CONFIRMATION WHAT USDA  WAS SAYING WHAT I'VE HEARD YOU KNOW NOT ALL ALL NOT EVERYWHERE BUT CERTAINLY IN SOME OF  FRINGE AREAS CASES ARE TIPPED BACK. YOU KNOW COLONEL ABORTION AND ALL THAT SO LET'S SEE WHAT THE CROP ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE WHEN THEY'RE IN THE FIELD YOU KNOW BECAUSE I THINK YOU KNOW AT  THIS TIME OF YEAR WHEN YOU GET THAT THAT IT'S A BIT EARLY FOR YOU'LL CHECK. SO THIS GIVES A LITTLE BIT  MORE TIME FOR THE CROP TO DEVELOP AND SEE WHAT'S ACTUALLY GOING TO HAPPEN. AND BILL ARE YOU  EXPECTING TO SEE SOME TIP BACK CONSIDERING THE HIGH POPULATIONS THAT WE'RE SEEING IN SOME AREAS. ABSOLUTELY. YOU WOULD EXPECT SOME TO BACK ON THAT. BUT BUT WHAT I'VE HEARD IN THE  FRINGE AREAS IS THAT IT'S IT'S WAY MORE THAN THAT. AND JOE LOOKING AT HOW MUCH FURTHER ALONG  THE CROP IS AT THIS STAGE COMPARED TO PAST YEARS DO YOU THINK WE'LL GET A MORE ACCURATE LOOK  THIS YEAR. YEAH YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY. THIS IS THE RECALL MATURITY STATISTIC. THIS IS ONE OF THE  THE SECOND OR THIRD QUICKEST IN THE LAST 20 YEARS I THINK. SO YEAH YOU SHOULD HAVE A BETTER READ ON IT RELATIVE TO OTHER YEARS. I WOULD THINK. ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU ALL FOR JOINING ME. WE  APPRECIATE IT. LET'S TAKE A QUICK BREAK. WE'LL HAVE A CHECK OF WEATHER HERE ON AG DAY.

WEATHER
WELCOME BACK TO AGDAY HERE. METEOROLOGIST CINDY CLAWSON CINDY AS WE LOOK AT THE  DROUGHT MONITOR WE KNOW NORTHERN MISSOURI SOUTHERN IOWA IS KIND OF THAT BULLSEYE BUT  THEY'VE GOTTEN SOME RAIN. YOU KNOW THEY REALLY HAVE AND YOU CAN SEE REALLY HASN'T BEEN A  LOT OF CHANGE OVER THE LAST WEEK. BUT TAKE A LOOK AT THE RAINFALL THAT WE HAVE SEEN. LET'S TAKE  A LOOK AND ZOOM IN ON SOME OF THOSE AREAS IN THE MIDDLE PART OF THE COUNTRY ZOOMING RIGHT INTO PARTS OF SOUTHERN MISSOURI ARKANSAS MAYBE NOT HITTING NORTHERN MISSOURI AS MUCH AS  WE'D LIKE BUT SOME OF THOSE DRY AREAS DEFINITELY GOT A LOT OF RAIN OVER THE LAST WEEK. TAKE A  LOOK AT WESTERN ARKANSAS ESPECIALLY OVER TOWARDS FORT SMITH EVEN INTO NORTHEASTERN ARKANSAS AND RIGHT AROUND THE BOOT HEEL OF MISSOURI SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS MANY OF THOSE  AREAS GOT FOUR OR FIVE INCHES. EVEN MORE OF RAINFALL OVER THE LAST WEEK. ANOTHER AREA THAT  RECEIVED A LOT OF RAIN OVER THE LAST WEEK IS MUCH OF THE EAST COAST LOOK AT THIS AS WE TAKE A  LOOK AT SOUTHERN NEW YORK INTO PENNSYLVANIA ALL THE WAY DOWN INTO NORTH CAROLINA. WE'VE HAD POCKETS OF RAIN THAT WERE IN THAT 2 3 EVEN 4 INCH RANGE. SO A LOT OF FOLKS IN THE EASTERN  ESPECIALLY THE EASTERN HALF OF THE COUNTRY DID RECEIVE SOME DECENT RAIN THIS WEEK. ALL RIGHT AS  WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE JET STREAM WE'VE GOT A BIT OF A TROUGH THAT'S GOING TO BE MOVING ACROSS  THE NORTH CENTRAL UNITED STATES AND YOU COULD SEE THAT BY WEDNESDAY WE REALLY SEE THAT DIGGING A LITTLE BIT FURTHER INTO THE OHIO VALLEY WHILE WE'VE GOT THIS RIDGE REALLY STRENGTHENING  IN THE WEST. LOOK FOR SOME PRETTY WARM TEMPERATURES THERE. THAT TROUGH STARTS TO MOVE AWAY  WE'LL SEE ANOTHER LITTLE RIDGE DEVELOPING IN THE WEST THAT MOVES ACROSS THEM WE SEE ANOTHER  TROUGH DIGGING IN THE NORTHWEST WHERE WE SEE SOME WARMER TEMPERATURES COME BACK FOR THE EASTERN PART OF THE COUNTRY. NOW OVERALL AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE WEEK AHEAD WE'RE  GOING TO SEE BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR A LOT OF THE NATION'S MIDSECTION BUT FAIRLY WARM  AS YOU GET OUT TO WEST AND INTO THE NORTHERN PLAINS ALSO IN PARTS OF THE NORTHEAST BUT FAIRLY  NORMAL IN PARTS OF THE SOUTHEAST. PRECIPITATION WISE LOOKING A LITTLE BIT WET AGAIN ALONG THE EASTERN SEABOARD PARTS OF THE UPPER MIDWEST SHOULD BE A LITTLE ON THE WET SIDE AND OF COURSE  THE FOUR CORNERS REGION MAYBE A BIT DRY IN THE WESTERN GULF COAST STATES HEADING UP INTO  PARTS OF SOUTHERN MICHIGAN AND ALONG THE WEST COAST. WHAT CAN WE EXPECT A LITTLE BIT LONGER TERM YOUR 30 DAY TEMPERATURES ALSO REMAIN ON THE COOL SIDE FOR SOME OF THE NATION'S  MIDSECTION THAT EXTENDS UP INTO SOUTH CENTRAL CANADA WARM ON THE EAST COAST WARM ON THE  WEST COAST AS WELL. BUT LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT THE PRECIPITATION FOR THE NEXT 30 DAYS. A LITTLE WET  IN THE SOUTH EAST ALL ACROSS MUCH OF THE CORN BELT AND INTO THE SOUTHWEST A BIT DRY IN PARTS OF  THE NORTHWESTERN UNITED STATES. THAT'S A LOOK AT YOUR NATIONAL FORECAST. NOW LET'S CHECK ON THE WEATHER WHERE YOU LIVE BOZEMAN MONTANA PARTLY CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS AND  THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE IN A HIGH OF 75 DEGREES KERSWELL MISSOURI. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH A HIGH OF 79 AND CARIBOU MAINE MOSTLY SUNNY FOR YOU WITH A HIGH OF 77.

NOW THAT IS THE HIGHEST AUCTION PRICE I'VE EVER SEEN ON A COMBINE  SOLD WITHOUT A HEAD EVER. NOW ON THE SAME DAY LAST WEDNESDAY FARM AUCTION CLOSE TO ME HERE IN SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA. 2015 JOHN YOU'RE 83 70 ARETI TRACK TRACTOR 737 HOURS ON IT SOLD  FOR TWO HUNDRED THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. ANOTHER VERY STRONG PRICE IN FACT THE HIGHEST  AUCTION PRICE I'VE EVER SEEN ON 83 70 ART. WHEN WE COME BACK, MEET A NEW YORK DAIRY FAMILY PRESERVING THEIR  LEGACY WITH HELP FROM A SWEET TREAT.

IN THE COUNTRY
GROCERY STORE AISLES ARE STOCKED WITH CHOICES - AS THE AG INDUSTRY  EXPANDS ITS PRODUCTS.  ONE MARRIED COUPLE IN UPSTATE NEW YORK ARE REALIZING THE SWEET TASTE  OF SUCCESS BY DEVELOPING A NICHE DAIRY DESSERT. BETSY JIBBEN EXPLAINS HOW GOATS ARE INVOLVED.  SETTLED AMONGST A LUSH, SIMPLE VIEW IN NEW YORK STATE,  LIES AN UNIQUE OPERATION JUST OFF HIGHWAY 12.  IT'S A DAIRY DRIVEN AREA - EXCEPT FOR ONE COUPLE WHO ARE SWITCHING IT UP  FOR THE FUTURE OF THEIR FARM. RIGHT NOW IS NOT A GOOD TIME TO GET INTO THE COW FARMING THING, UNFORTUNATELY.  SO WE THOUGHT THIS GOAT MARKET WOULD BE A GREAT NICHE."THAT'S WHY BLAKE AND ANDREW PLACE'S PURCHASE OF 2 GOATS IN 2010 IS NOW  150 AND COUNTING AT THE HIDDEN PASTURES GOAT DAIRY IN GLENFIELD, NEW  YORK. "THESE GIRLS PER DAY PRODUCE BETWEEN A HALF GALLON AND A GALLON"NEIGHBORS, HIRED HELP - AND EVEN A LITTLE ONE IN A FRILLY DRESS AND  BOOTS PACK INTO A PARLOR FOR AFTERNOON MILKING.  "MILKING GOATS IS SO SIMILIAR TO MILKING COWS."THE COUPLE WOULD KNOW.  THEY BOTH GREW UP ON DAIRY OPERATIONS AND  GRADUATED WITH ANIMAL  SCIENCE BACKGROUNDS.  "TICK FOR TACK, GOAT MILK IS VERY SIMILIAR TO COW MILK. IT'S JSUT THE PROTEINS ARE FORMULATED  DIFFERENTLY. THE FAT GOBULES ARE SMALLER AND MORE EASILY DIGESTIBLE FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE...""IT HAS LACTOSE IN IT BUT THE CHEMICAL FORMULATION IN THAT IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT,"BUT IT'S NOT JUST MILK THIS DUO IS AFTER...  THEY WANTED TO CREATE A SWEET TREAT.  THIS YEAR THAT DREAM BECAME REALITY. THEY ARE LAUNCHING GELATO MADE  GOAT'S MILK SELLING IT LOCALLY AND ONLINE.  "WE CHOOSE GELATO FIRST OF ALL BECUASE IT'S AWESOME. IT'S A DIFFERENT PRODUCT THAN CHEESE.  EVERYONE HAS HEARD ABOUT GOAT CHEESE, BUT GELATO IS JUST SWEET AND AN AWESOME DESSERT.""DON'T WORRY ABOUT HER. HANNAH, YOU WAN TTOI RUN DOWN AND START DIPPING?"THAT'S WHY A SMALL DAIRY FAMILY TUCKED AWAY IN UPSTATE NEW YORK IS STICKING TO ITS ROOTS BUT AIMING FOR LONGEVITY IN THE FAMILY BUSINESS.  REPORTING IN GLENFIELD, NEW YORK,  I'M BETSY JIBBEN.  THE HIDDEN PASTURES DAIRY IS SEEING NATIONAL RECONGITION.  THE DAIRY IS  AWARDED THE BEST LOCAL PRODUCT STARTUP IN THE AMERICAN  FARM BUREAU FEDERATION'S 2018 FARM BUREAU RURAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHALLENGE FOR THE GELATO THEY ARE MARKETING.
