TODAY ON AGDAY:
NOVEMBER 15, 2010

GRAIN PRICES TANK:
GRAIN PRICES FELL AND FELL HARD FRIDAY. ALL OF THE MAJOR COMMODITIES, INCLUDING CORN, SOYBEANS, WHEAT, AND COTTON FELL NEARLY TO THEIR LIMITS. BEHIND THE MASSIVE DROP SPECULATION FROM CHINA THAT IT MAY RAISE INTEREST RATES SOON. CHINA IS THE WORLDS LARGEST CONSUMER OF SOYBEANS AND SECOND LARGEST USER OF CORN. OFFICIALS THERE SAY INFLATION AND CONSUMER PRICES ARE UP MORE THAN 4% THIS YEAR. THAT'S WHY THE COUNTRY IS CONSIDERING RAISING INTEREST RATES...LOWERING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY AVAILABLE IN HOPES OF PUSHING SPECULATORS OUT OF THE COMMODITIES MARKET. BOTH CORN AND SOYBEANS WERE AT 26 MONTH HIGHS AND COTTON STAMPEDED PAST ITS ALL TIME PASSING 155 DOLLARS PER HUNDRED. ANALYSTS SAY HOLD ON, THE RIDE IS ABOUT TO GET BUMPY. JIM BOWER WILL BE BACK IN A FEW MINUTES TO DISCUSS WITH AL THE SOUTH AMERICAN SOYBEAN CROP.

AGWEB POLL:
WITH CHINA TALKING ABOUT ITS INTEREST RATES, WHEN DO YOU THINK THE U.S. WILL ALTER ITS RATES? THAT'S THE TOPIC OF THIS WEEK'S NEW AGWEB POLL QUESTION. "WHEN DO YOU EXPECT THE FED TO INCREASE INTEREST RATES?" WILL IT BE THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2011...BEFORE 2011 IS OVER...NOT UNTIL 2012...OR AFTER THE 2012 ELECTIONS? REMEMBER YOU CAN GO ONLINE TO AGWEB, SCROLL DOWN THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE SCREEN TO FIND THE POLL QUESTION. YOU CAN VOTE ALL WEEK. WE'LL HAVE THE RESULTS NEXT MONDAY. AFTER THE RECENT ELECTION, THE EDITORS AT AGWEB ASKED WHAT PARTY DO YOU THINK YOU MOST CLOSELY ASSOCIATE WITH. THE OUTCOMES SEEM TO REFLECT THE GENERAL FEELING OF THE ELECTION. THE RESULTS SHOW MORE THAN 40% OF THOSE WHO VOTED CONSIDER THEMSELVES MORE INLINE WITH THE TEA-PARTY MOVEMENT. ABOUT 37% CALL THEMSELVES REPUBLICANS. AND JUST ABOUT 15% CHECKED "DEMOCRAT". JUST 5% CLAIM NO AFFILIATION.

NAILE SHOW:
IN AGRIBUSINESS, THE NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL LIVESTOCK EXPOSITION IS NOW UNDERWAY IN LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY. THE SHOW IS CONSIDERED THE WORLD'S LARGEST ALL-BREED, PUREBRED LIVESTOCK EXPOSITION. TEN DIFFERENT SPECIES OF LIVESTOCK COMPETE IN THE EXPOSITION. IT'S NOT JUST CATTLE, BUT SOME OF THE FINEST SWINE, SHEEP, GOATS, HORSES AND MULES ARE COMPETING FOR TOP HONORS. MORE THAN 22,000 LIVESTOCK ENTRIES IN TEN DIVISIONS WILL ENTER THE GATES DURING THE TWO WEEK RUN OF THE SHOW. I'LL BE THERE LATER TODAY REPORTING ON SOME OF THE ISSUES FACING LIVESTOCK PRODUCERS. BE SURE TO STOP ME AND SAY HELLO

PHIPPS MARKETING RALLY:
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR ADVICE ON HOW TO BEST MARKET YOUR CROPS, THERE'S PROBABLY NO BETTER PLACE THAN THE 2010 MARKETING RALLY. IT'S COMING UP IN JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS. JOHN PHIPPS, WHO IS AN ILLINOIS FARMER AND HOST OF U.S. FARM REPORT, SAYS PRODUCERS WILL BENEFIT FROM A DIVERSE SET OF OPINIONS. THE MARKETING RALLY TAKES PLACE AT PHEASANT RUN RESORT IN SAINT CHARLES, ILLINOIS, OUTSIDE OF CHICAGO. AND IF YOU HAVEN'T REGISTERED YET, THERE'S GOOD NEWS. THE EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL TOMORROW. GO TO WWW.MARKETINGRALLY.COM FOR DETAILS.

IN THE COUNTRY; BROKEN SPOKE:
AS THE OLD ADAGE GOES "IF AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT". THAT MAY BE THE CASE FOR A POPULAR RESTAURANT IN GLEN ULLIN, NORTH DAKOTA. IT'S CALLED THE "BROKEN SPOKE". THIS SMALL TOWN GRILL USES THE CULINARY SKILLS OF FOUR GENERATIONS TO SERVE-UP SOME HOMECOOKIN'. CLIFF NAYLOR FROM AFFILIATE KFYR-TV TAKES US THERE. THANKS CLIFF. HERE'S A QUIZ - IF YOU WEAR PINK TO REPRESENT THE BATTLE AGAINST BREAST CANCER. WHAT COLOR SYMOLIZES LUNG CANCER? IF YOU DON'T KNOW, THAT'S PART OF THE PROBLEM. DETAILS IN AG FOR YOUR HEALTH.
