Today on AgriTalk, Bill Northey of USDA talks about the second round of MFP, Tom Sleight of U.S. Grains Council shares his frustrations on the Indian market, and Emily Skor of Growth Energy shares her testimony to Congress.

On Monday, it was announced that the second market facilitation program (MFP) payment would go through. USDA Undersecretary for Farm Production and Conservation Bill Northey shares when that money could enter farmers’ accounts and how a potential government shut down could impact the payments.

Tom Sleight, CEO of the U.S. Grains Council, talks about the export exchange, the headwinds USGC is facing and what they are doing to crack into new markets—like India—and new trade talks on the horizon.

Last week, Emily Skor, CEO of Growth Energy, testified to Congress on the role of the RFS and ethanol, stressing the success of the RFS in creating ethanol demand. She shares the environmental benefits and the battles with the refiners the ethanol industry has faced.
