Eddie Lund has been promoted to president of Allen Lund Co., the transportation company his father founded in 1976.

Eddie Lund, previously vice president of sales and operations of the La Cañada Flintridge, Calif., company, takes over the role his father had until his recent death.

Allen Lund died April 7 after a battle with cancer. He was 77.

Eddie Lund said he is honored to take over the role of president.

“Our executive team is determined to continue the legacy which my dad created,” Eddie Lund said in a news release. “A legacy of taking great care of our employees, customers and community.

“I am looking forward to meeting the challenges this ever-changing industry provides,” he said in the release.

After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a financing degree, he joined the Los Angeles Dodger minor league baseball system for four years, according to the release.

He then joined his father’s company in 1994 as a broker in the Portland office and became assistant manager there in 1995. He moved to Texas and managed the San Antonio Allen Lund office in 1997.

Eddie Lund was promoted to vice president of sales and branch operations, and moved to the company’s headquarters in 2002.
