There’s always tales of triumph and downfall every college football season. In 2016, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish had a 4-8 record. This year, the Irish have improved to 8-1 on the season.
According to the Week 11 AP College Football Ranking Poll, the Irish are now in the third slot behind number one Alabama and number two Georgia, who beat Notre Dame in Week Two at home.
Some are calling the Irish comeback as a story of grit, and fans are hoping it ends with a national championship victory.
However, George Gipp’s name has lived long after his stint as Notre Dame quarterback in the 1920s, now known as one of the NCAA’s finest.
