Application Taken to New Heights

March 9, 2009 08:07 AM

With an add-on kit, John Deere self-propelled sprayers can be converted for an in-field height clearance of 76".

The high-clearance bundle is in response to the increased demand for fungicide application in corn at tassel. The 16" extension is available for 2008-2009 models of 4730 and 4830 sprayers. Four lift castings are attached at each wheel between the chrome spindle and casting that houses the wheel motor. The bundle also includes protective shields for the radiator and grill and parts to lower the eductor for easier loading of chemicals. After the high-clearance kit is installed it can be removed to take the machine to its original 60" clearance, and the kit can be reinstalled in about four hours.

John Deere 4730 and 4830 self-propelled sprayers can be outfitted with a high-clearance bundle for an additional 16" of crop clearance.
