Sheriff's officials in northeastern Alabama say they're investigating the theft of dozens of cattle and farm equipment.
DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a statement that more than 30 cows and calves were stolen between May 13 and 15 from a farm, where an additional three cows, nine calves and a tractor were reported stolen May 23 and 24. Harris says the cattle may have yellow ear tags with numbers below 100 in their right ear.
Harris says three more black cattle were reported stolen from another farm in the Whiten community. Harris says the cattle have yellow tags with identification numbers between 1311 and 1313 in their left ears.
Anyone with information on the cattle's whereabouts are asked to call the Alabama Agriculture and Rural Crime Unit.
