Weekly weather outlook from Kirk Hinz of BAMWX.com
The outlook over the next couple of weeks is overall warmer than normal across the entire Ag Belt, bringing widespread 70s and 80s, even 90s in some locations further south at times. It certainly feels, in some ways, like a winter to summer transition. We continue to see the potential for a decent rainmaker moving west to east across the north-central plains late week, which fits right into our storm date we’ve been discussing between the 10-12th of May. Another storm system looms across the central US into the Ohio Valley this weekend into early next week. We can’t rule out some strong storms with this scenario as well. Longer term, new data pouring in recently continues to suggest the much above warmth we’re seeing in May carrying over into June across the Grain Belt, a trend we have been watching closely for some time. We will continue to update this daily over at BAMwx.com.
