"Beef Cow Camp 2015" is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, June 2 at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Buffalo, Mo.
Beef Camp is open to all youth ages 8 and over (and parents) interested in showing a beef animal. Participants who are in 4-H are encouraged to bring their beef project.
According Andy McCorkill, livestock specialist with University of Missouri Extension, the camp will include hands-on demonstrations of topics such as fitting, showing, feeding, grooming, and selecting the beef project.
"If it is at all feasible, we encourage participants to bring their calf," said McCorkill.
The Dallas County Cattlemen's Association will provide t-shirts for participants and will help cook the noon lunch.
