The Associated Press just released their preseason college football rankings and no surprise defending national champion Ohio State was the unanimous #1 team. The Southeastern Conference featured eight teams in the ranking with two just outside of the rankings (#26 Mississippi State and #27 Texas A&M) in terms of votes. A couple of those programs from the SEC got a boost to their protein intake this preseason thanks to their local cattlemen’s association feeding them beef.

Football players at the University of Mississippi dined on beef and learned about its importance to their diets during the Beefin’ Up the Rebels event:

Members of the Lafayette County Cattlemen's Association, Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association and Mississippi Beef Council kept the #17 ranked Ole Miss Rebels well fed with steaks:

The Ole Miss coaching staff even got involved with a little grilling since they don’t have time to tailgate in The Grove during the season:

Just down the road in Starkville members of the #26 ranked Mississippi State University Bulldogs got their own serving of beef thanks to the Mississippi Cattleman's Association:

They dined on steaks, too:

And the Bulldogs even got to interact with livestock and throw some hay bales:

If you need any help loading square bales defensive tackle Nick James might be willing to lend a hand…as long as you feed him beef:
