Wheat is grown on more land area than any other commercial food, and world trade is greater than all other crops combined. As a result, global price volatility is higher due to ongoing market uncertainty. For example, production and logistical issues in Canada opens markets for the extra wheat produced in the Black Sea region, although tension in major port cities could be a barrier.
