Education, fun and fellowship were on the agenda at the American Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA) fifth annual convention November 20-21 in Ft. Worth, Texas.

ABBA Executive Vice President Chris Shivers says the event was a great success. “The 2015 ABBAMembership Convention was one of the best to date with a great venue, an informative program and plenty of opportunities for breeders to visit and share ideas,” Shivers says.
The event started Friday, Nov. 20 with the membership welcome reception at The Stockyards Station in downtown Ft. Worth’s historic stockyards district. On Saturday, more than 100 cattlemen from five states and two countries attended educational seminars presented by renowned speakers in the U.S. livestock industry.
The convention provided something for everyone with diverse programs. Attendees heard from industry leaders on current issues and panelists on their expectations when buying cattle. A highlight of Saturday’s seminars were presentations on ABBA’s Brahman Herd Improvement Records Program, New Technologies in Reproduction, Herd Nutrition, Navigating the ABBA website and ABBA’s Performance Bull Test & Carcass Evaluation Programs,
Then on Saturday night, attendees kicked up their heels for a banquet, meal and dance at the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Brahman breeders and cattlemen alike should mark their calendars for Aug. 19-20, 2016, when the convention will be hosted in Shreveport, La.
