Branstad Confirmation Includes Concerns About Beef Access to China

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad fielded questions from Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wy.) during his confirmation hearing to be ambassador to China.

Barrasso asked the governor about U.S. beef gaining export access to China.

“It’s vital we work to insure that U.S. beef is traded fairly and trade barriers are eliminated as well,” said Branstad.

He says the issue is one he’s passionate about and says there needs to be the same access to U.S. beef in China as in Japan.
