Bumper Corn Crop to Boost Exports

August 2, 2016 03:00 PM

U.S. corn exports should rise, thanks to a bumper corn crop even bigger than last year.

With 900 million more bushels of corn expected to pile up, nearly 6 million more acres of corn will be harvested this year. That means that out of 94 million acres planted, more than 86 million will be harvested, USDA estimates.

As those expectations cause prices to slide, the good news is that exports should rise on the spike in production, along with ethanol and feed usage.
